Swift radio invites you to take part in a special Radiothon on May 5th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM in support of Gurmoh, a 3-year-old child living with a rare and progressive neurological condition called Spastic Paraplegia Type 4 (SPG4). Currently, Gurmoh experiences challenges with walking and balance. As the condition continues to progress, he may gradually lose the ability to walk, eat, speak, and live independently, along with the possibility of severe pain and cognitive decline. Gurmoh’s parents, Dr. Stalinjeet Singh Gill and Dr. Navpreet Sagha, are working around the clock to do everything possible to treat their child. They have pledged to explore every option available. An initial $2.7 million is needed to begin and accelerate the development of a specialized gene therapy at The Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (The Neuro) at McGill University. The full research project, including clinical trials and collaboration with industry partners, is expected to cost approximately $8 million over several years. A community effort With your support, our community through radiothons hosted by Swift Radio and other radio stations aims to raise funds for this critical gene therapy. This research has the potential to benefit many others in Gurmoh’s position. Swift Radio will direct 100% of donations received to Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib (GDNS). GDNS will issue tax receipts and forward all collected funds to The Neuro at McGill University. Swift Radio does not retain any portion of the funds. All proceeds go directly to Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib Surrey. Donor information collected during the Radiothon will be shared with GDNS for the purpose of processing donations and issuing tax receipts. GDNS may also use this information to send future messages.
